The Institute of Building Consultants Inc. (IBC) is a resource of building consultants that can assist with building inspections and reports, strata inspections and reports, timber pest inspections and reports, pre-purchase inspections and reports, dilapidation surveys and litigation reports.
Services are provided for solicitors, conveyancers, strata plan managers, property managers and direct to property purchasers and owners.
Our consultants meet through the year for speaker presentations, annual dinner and conference.

Presentation: Across Australia, changes in climate, occupant behaviour, energy efficiency requirements, construction methods and materials have brought elevated risks related to higher levels of internal humidity and moisture accumulation. This needs careful consideration to avoid structural decay and indoor mould growth. We will uncover how risks can be assessed, and design strategies for mitigating these risks such as climate specific membrane selection, placement of insulation and ventilation of cavities, roof spaces and the all-important occupied space. This session will also look at changes in NCC 2022 that apply in NSW and also what might be coming in NCC2025.
